Examination of Anti-Scam Frameworks in APAC

Resource thumbnail

The growing scam economy is one of the most significant and complex threats to digital trust. To help address this challenge, the GSMA launched the Global United Against Scams (UAS) initiative. In the Asia Pacific, GSMA members established the APAC Cross-Sector Anti-Scam Taskforce (ACAST) which brings together mobile network operators and digital platforms to strengthen digital trust through collaboration.

As part of its deliverables, the taskforce examined how public authorities across APAC are addressing the scam threat. This report is intended to support dialogue, peer learning and regional cooperation in tackling a problem that is inherently cross-border and cross-sector in nature. It aims to catalyse a constructive, solutions-oriented dialogue that brings all stakeholders together to ensure we are truly United Against Scams.
