At MWC25 Barcelona, GSMA Foundry announced a three-year partnership with Fira Circuit – a new company managed by Fira de Barcelona that is responsible for activities at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya – and Mobile World Capital Barcelona, a foundation driving digital innovation.

CircuitX had an exciting lineup of technology partners for its showcase debut at the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya invite-only event on Sunday, 1 March before taking to the stage at MWC26 Barcelona, 2-5 March.

CircuitX Demo Zone in New Frontiers, Hall 6
At Fira Barcelona, the innovative CircuitX partners demonstrated the transformative impact that mobile connectivity has on motorsport and fan experiences.
CircuitX is the groundbreaking three year-initiative designed to champion mobile technology across motorsports and transform the circuit experience with connectivity and will feature leading partners showcasing advanced technology and connectivity solutions at the CircuitX Demo Zone within the New Frontiers zone, Hall 6, including Al Kamel supported by Semtech & Domo Broadcast Systems, Barcelona Drone Center, Elmo, Ericsson, Formula E, Into Reality, MatSing, NTT DATA and Prospeed.
To enable all of the demonstrations at both the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and MWC26 Barcelona, Telefonica has joined the initiative as the official connectivity partner, providing 5G network coverage at both locations.
CircuitX’s project will cover five core areas to highlight where mobile connectivity can support innovation across motorsport and large-scale events, including:
- Travel & Navigation: Real-time journey management and traffic optimisation
- Security & Safety: Enhanced emergency communication and crowd monitoring
- Fan Movement: Smart venue navigation and crowd flow management
- Fan Experience: Personalised content, live data and immersive experiences
- Race Telemetry: Secure, efficient data transmission for teams and fans
During MWC26 Barcelona visitors explored the future of event communications and motorsport innovation through expert theatre sessions and hands-on technology demonstrations and discovered how mobile connectivity transforms how millions of fans connect, engage, and experience every moment around the track.
