Cable & Wireless Panama, S.A. (CWP) is a joint venture company created between Cable & Wireless plc., the Governement of Panama and a trust fund for CWP employees (49% – 49% – 2%).

CWP is a full service telecommunication solutions provider, offering fixed line, cellular, GRX, Internet, data and pay-phone services. CWP was the first GSM/GPRS provider in the Republic of Panama. its Cellular services are sold under the brand +Móvil. A GSM/GPRS 850 MHz network was commercially launched on 15 October 2002. CWP was the first Network in the world to commercially use GSM 850.

Currently with over 2.9 million mobile subscribers, and 50% market share. CWP’s has achieved over 45% area coverage and 90% population coverage nationwide, including major airports, main cities and towns, highways and roads, country crossings and major tourist destinations. CWP is also currently operating an 850 MHz HSPA+ Network since December 2008.
