Introducing new GSMA Members

New GSMA members focus on customer loyalty, scalable differentiation and innovating beyond connectivity

As the global telecoms industry matures, the competition between mobile operators is intensifying. To maintain or win market share, it is becoming increasingly important to harness artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver a compelling customer experience. This is a key focus area for the latest companies joining the GSMA.

A red banner displays three white company logos: GlorifAI with a stylized tree left, Telavox with a modern sans-serif font and geometric icon center, and Vitel Wireless with an orbit-like ellipse circling the word "vitel" right.

Among the new intake is GlorifAI, which describes itself as “a boutique AI company specialising in predictive models and customer intelligence for telecom operators.” After implementing advanced predictive modelling to minimise churn while working in-house at Verizon, a team of data scientists established GlorifAI in 2019. Drawing on the team’s extensive experience of applying AI, GlorifAI is now developing high-impact solutions to optimise customer lifetime value, segmentation and revenue, as well as lower churn. The company says its models enable mobile operators to make smarter, data-driven decisions across the customer lifecycle.

“Becoming a GSMA member is both an honour and an exciting opportunity for GlorifAI,” adds Ksenija Draskovic, Founder & CEO, GlorifAI. “We joined to collaborate with global telecom leaders, contribute to technical discussions and help shape how AI delivers real value for operators. We’re eager to engage with working groups and share insights from over two decades of applied AI in telecom.”

Curating scalable, differentiated services

Another new GSMA member, Telavox, is also applying AI to help mobile operators to differentiate themselves by turning complex, legacy telecoms services into modern and intuitive experiences. A cloud communications provider founded in 2002 in Sweden, Telavox now provides business telephony to more than one million users.

Telavox UCaaS (unified communications as a service) platform brings together cloud PBX, BSS (busniess support system), connectivity and AI, while supporting fixed mobile convergence. Working with both enterprises and operators, the company aims to enable simple, reliable communications for users and scalable, differentiated services for service providers.  “To ensure a thriving telco industry, we must accelerate the telco industry pace of innovation,” explains Viktor Karlsson, CEO of Telavox. “This can only be achieved by working together. With our UCaaS Platform offering, we turn telcos into fast moving tech companies to drive growth in B2B.”

Innovating beyond connectivity

The final new member this month, Vitel Wireless Limited, is a licensed mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) delivering voice, SMS and data services nationwide across Nigeria, using an advanced hosted network infrastructure. As well as offering mobile connectivity, Vitel Wireless provides innovative digital solutions, enabling personal safety, social impact programmes and advanced mobile services aligned with global telecom standards.

For example, the MVNO offers its customers in Nigeria a personal safety app and discreet SmartWear Security devices, such as smart watches, safety keychains and jewellery, which can be used to send location information to contacts or emergency responders (through 112 contact centres) via the mobile network.

“Vitel Wireless joined the GSMA to collaborate with global mobile industry leaders, align with international standards and accelerate innovation in connectivity,” notes Kenneth Nwabueze, CEO of Vitel Wireless. “Membership enables us to contribute to policy dialogue, adopt best-in-class technologies, strengthen partnerships and advance solutions that enhance digital inclusion, security and socio-economic development across Nigeria and emerging markets.”
