Mobile Meetings Series: Implications of C-V2X for the mobile and automotive sectors

Start: Tuesday 9 October 2018 08:15

End: Tuesday 9 October 2018 10:00

Venue: New GSMA Europe office

Location: Regent Park, Boulevard du Régent 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium

The connected vehicle market is one of the fastest growing segments of the Internet of Things. Common standards will underpin the ability of these technologies to create a single European market for connected and autonomous driving.

Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) is one such standard, which based on LTE, can connect vehicles to each other and to roadside infrastructure with extremely low latency, the capacity for high-speed use cases, and a global perspective as C-V2X will be deployed consistently across the world. A time of such intense sectoral transformation, requires a policy commitment to technology neutrality so that the market and users can choose the best option for future use. The mobile sector is very concerned about the Commission’s Delegated Act on C-ITS potentially excluding C-V2X by favouring a specific Wi-Fi based technology (known as ITS-G5).

This event is by invitation-only and will gather 20 selected key decision-makers and experts on the topic.
