The company
WonderTree provides gamified therapy and educational platform that transforms physiotherapy and special education into engaging Augmented Reality (AR) activities.
The problem
In Pakistan, over 1.5 million children with special needs lack access to specialised education and therapy, with only 550 registered institutions nationwide-most concentrated in urban areas. A severe shortage of trained professionals, including psychologists and therapists, further limits the quality and reach of support services. Even where services exist, high costs and travel barriers make them inaccessible for many families. There is an urgent need for affordable, scalable solutions that can reach underserved communities directly.
GSMA project
In November 2025, WonderTree received a GSMA grant to develop a gamified therapy and educational platform that transforms physiotherapy and special education into engaging Augmented Reality (AR) activities. Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), the platform delivers immersive AR gaming experiences and uses AI-powered body tracking via webcam, removing the need for costly external sensors.
The project will launch a mobile application of WonderTree’s digital learning platform to make learning more accessible, convenient, and affordable for children with special needs. It will also introduce Early Childhood Development (ECD) activities targeting cognitive, motor, and literacy skills. In collaboration with key stakeholders, WonderTree aims to reach 1,150 children with special needs across Pakistan.
A message from the founders
“Partnering with GSMA marks a significant milestone in WonderTree’s journey to make inclusive education more accessible and scalable across Pakistan. Through this collaboration, we aim to bring our AR-powered learning and therapy platform to mobile phones and tablets, enhancing the data analytics and developing early childhood curriculum, ensuring that every child regardless of ability or location can learn, grow, and thrive through play.”
