This month we are in full preparation mode for Mobile World Congress 2014, an ideal space to share updates and drive further progress with mHealth stakeholders, from both the public and private sectors, who are in Barcelona for the event. I will be speaking at the ECHAlliance @ Mobile World Congress session entitled “Transforming Healthcare Delivery: Success Stories” on 26th February at 09:50.
In December, the Mobile for Development mHealth team attended the mHealth Summit in Washington, DC and participated in a number of sessions, including one dedicated to the mHealth Grand Tour. Paul Merry, our mHealth research manager, has shared some of the impressions and findings we gathered at the event regarding commercial models for mHealth.
I also attended the United Nations’ Every Newborn Action Plan Stakeholder Meeting and the Millennium Development Goals Health Alliance Business Partners Forum, both of which provided inspiration and guidance for newborn, child and maternal health globally.
In January 2014, we launched the GSMA mHealth Africa Working Group, which will focus very specifically on the hands-on practical facilitation of the launch of mHealth services in Africa. For information about joining the mHealth Africa Working Group, please contact us.
We look forward to a busy and fruitful 2014.
Best wishes,
Craig Friderichs
Director of Health, Mobile for Development, GSMA
