Uniting Sectors, Strengthening Security: Highlights from the first T-ISAC in-person summit 2024

On 9-10 September 2024, we hosted the inaugural in-person T-ISAC Summit at our London office conference area, marking a significant milestone for the GSMA Telecommunication – Information Sharing and Analysis Center (T-ISAC). This global community, comprising cyber threat intelligence and fraud specialists, came together with a singular goal: to enhance industry resilience against cyberattacks.

Prevention through collaboration

Our key objectives were to foster deeper interaction within the existing T-ISAC audience, encourage leadership and collaboration across sectors through their own ISACs. By uniting experts across various industries, we aimed to strengthen collective defences and build a more unified approach to tackling cyber threats.

Cross-sector collaboration in action

One of the summit’s highlights was the participation of members from other industry ISACs, including Aviation, Financial Services, and Retail and Hospitality. This cross-sector representation created a unique platform for sharing insights and strategies to counter common cyber threats.

Discussions explored the overlapping challenges faced by these sectors, including threat actor tactics, phishing campaigns, and malware distribution. These conversations emphasised the shared nature of cyber risks and the importance of collaboration in addressing them.

Strengthening the telecommunications industry and beyond

This first T-ISAC in-person summit successfully set the stage for continued collaboration and innovation. It reinforced the critical role that intelligence sharing and cross-sector cooperation play in safeguarding the telecommunications industry and beyond.

As we look ahead, we’re committed to building on this momentum, uniting sectors, and driving progress in global cybersecurity.

Expert interviews

Find out from our three T-ISAC member experts interviewed at the summit about their key areas of interest, challenges and how the industry can come together to mitigate them. How they work with other sectors, and how can we improve collaboration? What were their security predictions for the rest of the year, and how can the T-ISAC help to address them?
