With 27 bn connected devices forecast by 2025, including 6bn in China, mobile technology is playing an increasingly crucial role in the Internet of Things (IoT) – securely connecting many more devices and machines to their owners, the Internet, and each other.

There will be 3.1bn low power wide area (LPWA) IoT connections worldwide by 2025, with China alone forecast to have over 486m LPWA connections.
