Green Power for Mobile and Mobile World Congress

Mobile World Congress is just weeks away and what a great agenda we have yet again this year! High profile key note speakers, insightful panel discussions, thousands of exhibitors and a world of innovation.

2012 also sees the year that the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon introduces the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All. In his speech, he states “Energy is central to everything we do, from powering our economies to achieving the Millennium Development Goals, from combating climate change to underpinning global security. It is the golden thread that connects economic growth, increased social equity and preserving the environment.”

The GSMA’s Mobile for Development is a great supporter of this and believes the mobile industry offers a unique perspective on leveraging itself to drive this opportunity forward. Find out how and why you should get involved; the Green Power for Mobile and Community Power from Mobile teams are jointly hosting a Seminar on Tuesday 28th February from 4pm-5pm in the GSMA Seminar Theatre, Hall 2.1 (Upper Level).

The session will take the form of a panel discussion with 3 prominent figures from the industry:

  • Sairam Prasad, Chief Technology Officer, Bharti Infratel
  • Maarten Boute, Chief Executive Officer, Digicel Haiti
  • Marco Signorini, Chief Executive Officer, Econet Solar

Please come along and join our discussion. We will also be giving special mentions to MNOs who have made outstanding contributions to Green Mobile and will be showcasing them on our Deployment Tracker.
