In an era of unprecedented fraud and technological awareness, people are reluctant to initiate transactions and provide information. Mobile Connect has a key role to play in combatting fraud and providing consumers with a secure means to use digital services safely and securely. With the launch of Mobile Connect, digital service providers have a powerful new way to enhance their brand by ensuring their customers’ data is protected.

In this session, a number of global organisations will discuss how they have adjusted to consumers’ demands and are turning to Mobile Connect to help bridge the gap and protect their customers. This seminar is aimed at digital service providers and operators focused on authentication for ecommerce and financial services.

Alex Gong

Senior Product Manager, Paypal

Alex is the Senior Product Manager of the Digital Labs team at PayPal. He is responsible for creating new experiences to drive user acquisition and engagement across the customer life cycle. Before PayPal he worked at Nokia in various roles and started his career as a consultant.​

Atreedev Banerjee

VP Mobile Identity Products, Danal

Atreedev has 18+ years of experience in the mobile industry helping MNOs across EMEA and the Americas. He launched next generation solutions in security, compliances, identity proofing, authentication, payments, messaging, billing, location and video technologies. He drives Telecom and enterprise client relationships founded on product innovation and execution. At Danal, Atreedev evangelizes the Mobile ID and Authentication services, partnering with US & European MNOs and authored multiple patents in these fields. Financial Institutions and e-commerce providers are clients to the solutions. Atreedev has held key positions in product, program and business development functions at Syniverse, VeriSign and Siemens AG (Germany).

Brian Kuwahara

Senior Director, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Visa

Brian Kuwahara has over twenty years of experience in the Financial Services industry. Brian is responsible for evaluating startup companies and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for Visa’s Venture Program to invest and partner with third parties.  Brian also leads efforts to develop innovative payment prototypes.​

Prior to his current role, Brian led Visa’s Technology Strategy and Enterprise Business Architecture teams. He was responsible for developing Visa’s Technology Strategy and he led Visa’s M&A Technology Due Diligence and Integration capability.​

Before joining Visa, Brian was a Partner at Accenture, specializing in Technology Strategy and IT Transformation Consulting for Financial Services clients

Dan Johnson

Deputy Head of Customer Data Strategy, HSBC

Dan Johnson’s career spans 20 years predominantly in Financial Services, but includes working within the commercial and public sectors. Originally a COBOL programmer and software tester, Dan has designed and managed the delivery of number of systems and solutions. He now leads a global strategy and design team concentrating on re-imagining customer data management with a particular interest in Digital Identity. In his spare time, Dan is an Assistant Cub Scout Leader, model railway enthusiast, husband and father of two.

David Pringle

Pringle Media

David Pringle runs Pringle Media, which provides analytical, writing and editing services to organisations in the telecoms, media and technology sectors. David is a regular moderator at major industry conferences as well as serving as an associate senior analyst at telecoms research and advisory firm STL Partners.

Prior to founding Pringle Media in 2009, David provided media relations support to senior executives in the mobile industry for the GSMA. Between 2000 and 2005, David was the European technology and telecommunications correspondent for The Wall Street Journal covering several multinational companies. He has also served as deputy editor of Information Strategy.

Glenn Porter

Managing Director, GB Group

Glenn Porter is Managing Director of GBG Plc’s Global and Major Customer Programme, Data Strategy and Corporate Business Development. He began his career in Technology and Data in 1995 with Dun & Bradstreet and since then has obtained over 20 years’ experience in international organisations which deliver data driven IT and services solutions.
Glenn’s most notable recent achievement has been to lead the international expansion of GBG’s identity data intelligence solutions. The group’s global identification and verification service now covers over 58% of the world’s population in 60 countries.

Marcel Vaschauner

Head of Risk and Fraud, Docomo Digital

Marcel is a finance expert heading up Risk and Fraud at Docomo Digital. He is also a serial entrepreneur. He founded Loviit, a digital payments enabler solution for e-commerce retailers and sold it to NTT Docomo Group and founded fine trade gmbh, that offers e-commerce trading solutions with retailer payment options and Three Litte Birds AG that engages in managerial functions, business development and trade activities.​

Mark Harvey

Global Engagement Director, GSMA

Mark Harvey is Global Engagement Director at the GSMA . Mark has over 20 years of experience in Telecom and Technology, being a thought leader and innovator. Prior to the GSMA, Mark  was a major shareholder and Global Sales Director for a disruptive FinTech, focusing on a smart solution that enabled real time payments for Indian diaspora. . Mark has worked in South Africa, Nigeria and the United States and helped build and drive profitable businesses. Mark is a Freeman of the City of London and helps support City of London Charities such as Thames Reach, which supports the homeless.

Oscar Mancebo Ortiz

Senior Product Manager for Security and Identity & Head of Mobile Connect, Telefonica

Óscar Mancebo is Senior Product Manager for Security and Identity area and Head of “Mobile Connect” at Telefonica Group, with more than 15 years of experience in the Telecommunication sector. Mobile Connect represents a standardized solution for user identification and authentication, allowing the mobile phone number to operate as the user’s unique ID. The objective of the project, launched in February 2014 by GSMA is to simplify people’s lives in the new digital world, offering a simple, safe identification service that offers the user total control over their privacy and turns the Mobile Phone in the key to access the Internet services.

Professional with more than 12 years’ experience in complete management of business units in technology and utilities sectors. Wide experience in management and implantation of new model businesses and multidisciplinary equipment in technology, finance, marketing and communication areas. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) at IE Business School.
e-park is a phone payment app for regulated street parking areas, leader in this sector, with more than 670.000 users. This app is essential for citizens who drive around the cities and it manages more than 3.5 million operations a month.

Will Dawson

Executive Vice President, MoneyMobile

Will Dawson is the Executive Vice President at MoneyOnMobile, Inc. Mr. Dawson has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Prior to MoneyOnMobile, Mr. Dawson was the Chief Operating Officer at Mobile Payment Solutions, backed by Smart Communication and MasterCard, which created mobile money ecosystems in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Mr. Dawson rolled out mobile money solutions in Turkey with the largest mobile operator, Turkcell, and two banks, and in Egypt with the Central Bank of Egypt, the mobile operator Etisalat, National Bank of Egypt, and Fawry, a bill payment aggregator.
