What is the standard interview process at the GSMA?

Our recruitment process typically involves the following steps:

The above process may change depending on the position. Your Talent Partner will confirm the steps with you as well as provide detail on whether interviews will take place remotely or on-site.

How can I prepare for my interview?

We are keen to find out about you at the interview including delving into your experience and skills further as well as your motivation in applying and working for the GSMA. The interviews may include both technical, behavioural and competency-based questions. We also would like to know if your values align with ours and are keen to hear and answer questions that you have prepared.

The STAR technique is a useful method to use when structuring your answers in an interview:

Situation – what was the situation? Set the scene

Task – what was the task/challenge/problem?

Action – what did you do?

Result – what was the outcome/result?

When will I receive feedback from my interview?

We endeavour to provide feedback as soon as possible after the interview. At times there may be delays, but we will let you know if there are. Feedback will be provided by the Talent Partner or Hiring Manager over via email or call. We also welcome feedback from you about your own experience during the application and interview process.

How do I cancel or postpone my interview?

We understand that life gets in the way at times and we would appreciate it if you let us know at your earliest convenience if you need to postpone or cancel your interview. We will do our best to re-organise the interview.

We also understand that virtual interviews over video conference can at times run into technical issues. We advise that you have a trial run and connect to the video conference 15 minutes before the scheduled interview. If you are having technical difficulties, we will look at re-arranging the interview.

What to wear?

We are business casual at the GSMA. We would like everyone to be themselves and feel comfortable. You do not need to be suited and booted for an interview, but we do advise against wearing pyjamas.
