APAC Policy Group
The APAC Policy Group plays a key role in GSMA’s governance structure as the bridge between the Operator Expert Groups and the Public Policy Committee of the GSMA Board.
About the APAC Policy Group
The APAC Policy Group provides regional policy input to the Global Policy Group. The Global Policy Group escalates agreed positions to the GSMA Board, creating a clear governance pathway from regional operators to the Board.
As the region’s principal forum for shaping GSMA’s policy and regulatory advocacy agenda, the APAC Policy Group brings together Chief Regulatory Officers and senior public policy leaders from Asia Pacific’s leading mobile network operators. It provides a collaborative platform to address shared challenges and seize opportunities in a fast-changing digital environment.
In an era defined by AI governance, digital trust, cybersecurity resilience, and 5G/6G readiness, the group works collectively to ensure policy frameworks foster innovation, investment, and inclusion. Its discussions span critical areas such as spectrum management, infrastructure investment, emerging technologies, digital economy taxation, and sustainable connectivity.
The APAC Policy Group convenes virtually three times a year and drives regional engagement through policy roundtables, Digital Nation Summits, and GSMA-led ministerial dialogues. These platforms give members direct access to high-level advocacy opportunities and complimentary leadership passes for all MWC events, reinforcing their influence in shaping both regional and global policy agendas.
