How to Participate

To participate in the GSMA APAC Digital Nations Awards, all you need to do is to submit a “Digital Nations Building” Video, with a maximum length of 3 minutes per video, for the following 3 categories (can submit one video in each category).

  1. Sustainability
  2. Digital Inclusion
  3. Innovation

The Digital Nations Awards are open to all GSMA Members. The deadline for video submission is 27 August 2025, and all submitted videos will be promoted on the GSMA APAC website.

We will shortlist 15 videos from all the submissions and the judge team will review the videos and announce the awards result on 23 September 2025 at the Digital Nations Awards Networking Cocktail on Day 1 of the Digital Nation Summit Kuala Lumpur, ASEAN Edition.

Awards

The 2025 Awards will be recognizing the following 3 categories:

1. Excellence in Sustainability Video Award

On top of the above 3 awards, we will select 3 videos among all of the submitted videos for the following 3 awards:

Judging Criteria

1.  Excellence in Sustainability Video Award

  • Best demonstration of the contribution of mobile technology towards Sustainability in the advancement of digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)
  • Best narrative about the company’s products, services or programs that are being used to support Sustainability in the digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)

2.  Excellence in Digital Inclusion Video Award

  • Best demonstration of the contribution of mobile technology towards Digital Inclusion in the advancement of digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)
  • Best narrative about the company’s products, services or programs that are being used to support Digital Inclusion in the digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)

3. Excellence in Innovation Video Award

  • Best demonstration of Innovation in mobile technology in the advancement of digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)
  • Best narrative about the company’s innovative products, services or programs that are being used to support the digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)

4.  Best Digital Nation Video Award

  • Best demonstration of the contribution of mobile technology in the advancement of digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)
  • Best narrative about the company’s products, services or programs that are being used to support the digital transformation of a nation (50% of the score)

5. Digital Nation Video Creativity Award

  • Impact/memorability (50% of the score)
  • Creativity in content delivery (50% of the score)

6. Social Media Impact Award

  • Video social media reach – YouTube views/likes (50% of the score)
  • Video popularity on GSMA Facebook page – likes/impressions (50% of the score)

Awards Ceremony

Awards will be presented at the Digital Nations Awards & Networking Cocktail on 23 September 2025 at 5:30 pm. This is an invitation-only networking reception for VIPs attending the Digital Nation Summit Kuala Lumpur. Judges will announce the awards.

Public Announcement of Results

The competition results will be posted on GSMA’s Asia Pacific website on 24 September 2025.
