The impact of mobile connectivity in Asia Pacific is both substantial and far-reaching. No longer limited to just enabling access to the digital ecosystem, it has become a core driver of economic growth, social development and broader digital participation, connecting individuals and businesses to the wider digital economy. The scale of its contribution is significant: the mobile sector accounts for $1 out of every $17 of economic value generated across the region. Operators in Asia Pacific support nearly 2.7 billion connections, including close to 1.8 billion unique mobile internet users (equivalent to over 60% of the population).

In 2025, mobile technologies and services generated $1 trillion in economic value, projected to grow at a CAGR of 6.1% to reach $1.4 trillion by 2030. The mobile ecosystem supported nearly 18 million jobs in 2025, including 12 million direct jobs.
