In 2025, mobile technologies and services contributed $21 billion to the Caribbean economy, equivalent to 8.1% of GDP. This contribution is forecast to reach $23 billion by 2030, driven by the growing adoption of digital technologies such as 5G, AI and IoT.
AI has emerged as a strategic priority, moving from testing towards early operational deployment; 38% of operators in the Caribbean have now launched at least one AI tool. As adoption accelerates, AI is beginning to transform telecom operations, customer engagement, digital policy and national development strategies across the region.
The expansion of digital payments, public services and cloud-based systems means digital trust and cybersecurity have become key enablers of digital inclusion. Against this backdrop, regional operators are deploying AI-enabled fraud solutions, and partnering with industry and governments to strengthen cyber resilience.
