This conference held on May 13 was inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Jamal Sarayreh in Jordan on 13 May. The theme of the conference was “Reality and Challenges of the Telecommunication Sector in Jordan”. It was attended by representatives from the ICT sector and regional decision-makers from the both the private and public sectors.
It was organised by the Jasmine Foundation and was aimed at addressing issues related to cyber security and smartphone applications, among others. The conference also showcased the achievements of the ICT sector and harnessed the knowledge of experts from regional and Arab start-ups, companies and organizations.
Jawad Abbassi, the Head of MENA region in the GSMA gave a keynote on new horizons of the mobile industry, 5G and AI as well as data on the mobile economy in the MENA region.
