Dr. Ryokichi Onishi, Group Leader
Network Group, Technical Research Division 1,
Toyota Info Technology Center

Dr. Ryokichi Onishi’s engineering career of 16 years has spanned various projects that include designing inter-vehicular communication model for cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC). His current interest lies in re-defining network and computing infrastructure in order to accommodate automotive big data in a smart fashion. That is geared for emerging services such as high definition map and intelligent driving.Ryokichi earned his Ph.D. degree in engineering from the University of Tokyo and had four years of on-site collaboration experience at Telcordia Technologies, formerly known as Bell Communications Research. He has been awarded 16 patents by the U.S. Patent Office.

 

Kiichi Iwasaki, Project Manager, Connected Management Division, Connected Company
Toyota Motor Corporation

Kiichi Iwasaki joined Toyota after several years’ experience in the telecommunications industry. At Toyota, he has been in charge of telematics, in particular for global planning and regional development. After a few years of being dispatched to Toyota Motor North America, he is currently the Project Manager in charge of promoting the connected strategy from the viewpoint of network and edge computing.

 

Dr. Andreas Müller, Senior Expert and Project Manager
Bosch

Andreas Müller is a Senior Expert and Project Manager within the Corporate Research Department of Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany. In his current role, he is coordinating Bosch’s research activities in the area of future industrial connectivity infrastructures, with a special focus on wireless communications and emerging 5G technologies. This is done in close collaboration with various business units and external partners in order to ensure a high practical relevance.

Prior to joining Bosch, Andreas was a Research Staff Member at the Institute of Telecommunications of the University of Stuttgart, Germany, where he was contributing to the further development of the 3GPP Long Term Evolution towards LTE-Advanced. He has also worked as a Systems Engineer for Rohde & Schwarz, developing a novel software-defined radio based communication system for the German Armed Forces.

 

Allan Cai, Senior Production Design Expert, AliTelecom
Alibaba

Allan Cai has more than 20 years’ experience in the Telecom industry, and holds a bachelor degree of Physics from Shanghai JiaoTong Uinversity(SJTU) and a MBA degree from Fudan University. With professional experience in Core Network, BSS and OSS, Allan and his colleagues are running a Communication-PaaS with capacity of mass traffic processing, supporting all ecological members in Alibaba Group.Allan is now in charge of leading the Product Design Center, and his current focus is spearheading the communication capabilities and connecting services in order to support the rapid innovation and ecosystem development, including retail, E-commerce, public cloud, logistics, payment and social.

 

Matt Stagg, Head of Media and Entertainment
EE

Matt Stagg has over 25 years’ experience in telecoms, media and entertainment and was recently voted in the top 50 most influential people in online TV for the fourth year running. In 2017, he was awarded the TV Connect People’s Choice award for the ‘Person who made the biggest impact on the connected entertainment industry’.Within EE, Matt is Head of Media & Entertainment Technology, developing the strategy for the Broadcast, Media & Entertainment over 4G / LTE-B & 5G. This encompasses a ‘glass to glass’ approach incorporating both contribution and distribution of media.

Matt is also the Founder and Chairman of the Mobile Video Alliance and co-founder of the LTE-Broadcast Global Alliance.

 

Mike Wright, Group Managing Director – Networks
Telstra

Mike Wright leads Telstra’s engineering and construction capabilities for all fixed, wireless and media networks end to end. With more than 35 years’ experience in telecommunications, Mike has made a significant contribution to the evolution of Telstra’s mobile network to what is a world class, and Australia’s largest nationwide LTE/HSPA network.

Mike has been highly engaged in world leading network technology developments in the wireless, fixed and media fields including Australian and World leading deployment of new spectrum bands and new technologies including LTE-A, Gigabit LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi, Cat M1, NB-IoT and LTE Broadcast capabilities as well as the evolution to Next Generation Optical transport, SDN/NFV and Media optimised networks.

Mike is regular presenter and influencer at international forums throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas.

 

Anil Rao, Principal Analyst, Telecoms Software and Networks
Analysys Mason

With over 15 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, Anil Rao has broad ranging experience in designing and implementing telco network and operations solutions for both fixed and mobile operators. In his current stint as an industry analyst, Anil focuses on how network virtualisation, 5G and IoT will impact operations and enables telcos and industry players explore new business models and revenue opportunities.
