5G-Advanced: Shaping the future of operator services – A Deep Dive

The next step in the development of cellular technologies, 5G-Advanced technologies are set to be deployed from late 2024 onwards. 5G-Advanced capabilities promise to transform every aspect of the services mobile operators provide for their customers.

This webinar will explore how 5G-Advanced technologies will extend the coverage, enhance the mobility and improve the speed and power efficiency of 5G, creating new value for both mobile operators and their customers. It will also provide attendees with clear and compelling examples of how 5G-Advanced will support various use cases in the consumer and business markets, such as asset tracking, anomaly detection, event management, conversational AI (artificial intelligence) and fixed wireless access.

Dr Tomasz Gerszberg

Group Head of Future Networks, Axiata

Dr Tomasz Gerszberg is the Group Head of Future Networks at Axiata, which operates in 5 countries in Southeast Asia. Tomasz began his career at T-Mobile Poland, where he held various management positions in the Technology & Innovation area. He was working at Deutsche Telekom, Germany as the SVP Group Technology Strategy and SVP Business Operations (Product Innovations for B2B), where he initiated MobiledgeX (acquired by Google) and lately moved there as VP Operator Ecosystem & Support. He also worked as the CTO of Axiata Enterprise, the B2B unit of Axiata. Tomasz holds M.Sc. degree in IT from Warsaw University of Technology and Ph.D. from the University of Warsaw.

Terry Tan

Solution Manager from Enterprise Connectivity & 5G Task Force , ST Engineering Advanced Networks & Sensors Pte Ltd.

Terry Tan, Solution Manager within the Enterprise Connectivity & 5G Task Force at ST Engineering Advanced Networks & Sensors Pte Ltd, brings over two decades of experience in the dynamic world of wireless telecommunications. Terry has worked in the wireless telecommunication industries since 2001, from the evolution of technologies across GSM to UMTS, LTE, and now 5G. Terry holds experience within Carrier Service Providers like Singtel, esteemed telecom vendors such as Huawei and ZTE, and System Integration (SI) companies as a network planner, project delivery engineer, consultant, strategic business developer, and pre-sales, contributing to advancements in innovation and excellence in the telecommunications landscape.

David Pringle

Freelance London-based analyst, writer and editor

A former business journalist, David Pringle is a London-based analyst, writer and editor working with organisations in the telecoms, media and technology sectors. A regular moderator of panel discussions at major industry conferences, David also serves as an editor and presenter on Mobile World Live television at the Mobile World Congress.

Prior to founding Pringle Media in 2009, David worked at the GSMA, providing media relations support to the CEO, chairman and other senior executives in the mobile industry. Between 2000 and 2005, David was the European technology and telecommunications correspondent for The Wall Street Journal covering Vodafone, Nokia, Ericsson, British Telecom and other major multinationals. He has also served as deputy editor of Information Strategy, a pan-European title owned by The Economist Group.

Peter Jarich

Head of GSMA Intelligence, GSMA Intelligence

Peter leads the GSMA Intelligence analyst team, driving its content strategy and agenda. Working across the GSMA membership and broader mobile ecosystem, Peter is responsible for developing insights into the intelligence products

required by the market as well as the best ways in which to deliver them. In the near-term, this means driving the rollout of new data sets and research on topics ranging from 5G and IoT, to Consumer Demand trends, Fixed TV & Convergence.

Gloria Trujillo

Technical Director, GSMA

My background is as Standards expert and eSIM/SIM software engineer I have been with GSMA for as long as 9 years!

I was brought into GSMA to lead and help the industry creating the eSIM standards My role currently involves leading the IoT, Security and Compliance eSIM Groups I also manage the eSIM Compliance and eSA Scheme Services.
