Accelerating scalable, relevant, and inclusive AI language models

The African AI Language Models project convenes the G6 Mobile Network Operators and other telecommunications companies, public and private sector actors, academia, and civil society in a collaborative drive to accelerate the building and adoption of scalable, relevant, and inclusive AI language models for African Languages.

Please note that all of our activities within this project have now transferred to the ATLAS Umoja AI website.

African driven and owned – no exclusions to those outside Africa to participate. From major indigenous languages to Africanised English, French, and Arabic dialects.

Collaboration and Scale

Prioritise broader ecosystem collaboration rather than duplicating siloed LLMs. Scale only if viable.
