What is the Goal?

The goal is to encourage and showcase innovative calling service using AI technologies, with the implementation, i.e the calling application, designed demonstrating potential tangible user benefits, creativity and the potential to scale strongly.

Key Focus Areas

Innovative and potentially impactful use cases of calling service using AI technology in ANY AREA, topic or vertical are eligible. Use cases can be either deployed or those that are, in the applicants’ view, capable of being deployed.  

What will be assessed?

Innovative proposals for the use of AI in calling services with design demonstrating strong potential to drive impact, use benefits and scalability.

The project proposal may include following aspects:

• background and market demand,
• product design and potential technical solution,
• potential application scenarios and business benefits

And any valuable information help understanding the use case or demonstrating the impact and creativity.

GSMA & GTI will take into consideration whether:

• Implementations of innovative use cases are capable of being efficiently deployable and scalable through the use of Open Gateway APIs (being developed) or other network based APIs.

Steps & Timelines

1. SUBMISSIONS – Ensure that you have submitted your use case proposal by April 30th 2025. Your project proposal is expected to be finished in English language.

2. ASSESSMENT & SELECTION – Assessment Panel evaluates all project proposals in May 2025 and announce shortlist.

3. SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED – May 2025 – Shortlist candidates announced are requested to have online presentation for final evaluation. Candidates are expected to provide further demo showcase.

4. WINNER ANNOUNCED – June 18^th – 20^th 2025 at MWC Shanghai. 

Why enter the Challenge?

1. Additional benefits received for shortlisted candidates announced in May 2025.
2. Potential opportunity to joint work with New Calling innovation lab for application verification, and future market-oriented product incubation and promotion.
3. Project proposal and potential demo presentation evaluated by GTI and GSMA Assessment Panel 
4. Winner announced at MWC Shanghai 18th-20th June 2025
