Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL)

Camtel, the national telecommunications and Internet Service Provider in Cameroon, launched its nationwide GSM mobile service called “blue” in August 2021. The launch of blue followed Fixed, Mobile and Transport Licenses granted to Camtel by the Government of Cameroon in August 2020. “blue is a brand of Camtel’s mobile network and its sim cards are exclusively designed for  compatible phones with  3G/4G technologies. A statement from the company done on January 26, 2021. Three years on, “blue” has crept into the habits of mobile consumers in Cameroon with over two million subscribers already. The ten Regions of  the country are covered by the mobile network and expansions are expected in 2025 according to  the programme named “Mobile Network Expansion”. Voice and Data are the main products and services provided to individuals and businesses.
