European Commission and GSMA partners on Data4Covid image

Anonymised and aggregated data, which are being processed by telecom operators, can help better understand and predict the spread of the COVID-19, evaluate the effectiveness and the implementation of public health policies and measures, and support effective delivery of medical services, food and other critical services.

GSMA members and the European Commission have agreed on the following Letter of Intent for Cooperation to help fight COVID-19.

The European Commission and the participating mobile network operators have acknowledged that the goals of the collaboration have been met and agreed to jointly terminate the collaboration as of 30 June 2022, since access to both the Mobility Visualization Platform and the Scenario Analysis Toolbox has significantly decreased in the new phase of the pandemic in which mobility data is less relevant.
