Andres Escribano

New Business & Industry 4.0 Director & Joint Chair of GSMA 5G IoT Manufacturing Forum, Telefónica

Responsible for developing new business opportunities at global level in IoT, 5G & new connectivity, AI & Blockchain. During the last 2 years responsible for the Industry 4.0 Business area.

Responsible for connectivity business in Telefónica during the last 4 years (18 Mll IoT lines around the world), including the Telefónica IoT Platform Global Product Area (KITE), IoT Partners Program & Business Technology Area) and part of the IoT World Alliance Executive Board, GSMA Connecting Living Group.

For 8 years he implemented and managed the ERP/PDM information systems in EADS (Airbus), later he joined Telefónica in 1999 where he was responsible for IT and Security in Quam Switzerland (TEF Mobile Operations). For 8 years in different organizations in Telefónica (Spain and Latam Corporation & MNCs), managed the Presales Area in the Corporate/Multinationals segment, focus in the B2B business.

Andreas Morawietz

Head of Strategic Product Management, Giesecke+Devrient

Andreas is Head of Strategic Product Management for all eSIM/SIM lifecycle management services of Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security TCD.

Within several management positions at G+D he formerly was heading the global Product Management for eSIM management and was responsible for G+D´s product marketing.
Andreas evangelized eSIM since beginning back in 2009 and is involved in many commercial remote eSIM management projects around the globe addressing M2M, IOT and consumer market segment.

Andreas holds an engineering degree in precision engineering and Master of Business Administration.

Avishay Shraga

Head of Security Technologies, Sony Semiconductor IL

Avishay is a visionary security tech professional, who masters new technologies quickly and drives them forward into pragmatic solutions.  As Head of Security Technologies, he is responsible for Sony’s Altair strategic security initiatives. Avishay set up Sony Semiconductor IL’s Security Group and plays a key role in the development of the world’s first integrated SIM (iSIM) for IoT. He brings over 20 years of experience in delivering cutting-edge technologies in the areas of security and communication. 

Avishay has held senior positions at Intel and Qualcomm, driving novel technologies into the market and creating new eco-systems.

Dawood Ghalaieny


Dawood has come from a long history within the mobile ecosystem beginning at the edge with mobile parking, growing into mobile marketing and pioneering the regulatory framework of set tariff SMS short codes in Ireland as early as 2001. After leading Ireland’s introduction to mobile marketing Dawood moved closer to the core of mobile network infrastructure in roaming and security at Cellusys before founding ZARIOT. His enthusiasm for business process re-engineering has been further enhanced by the arrival of IoT as its most significant enabler. He is currently CEO at ZARIOT, Chairman at Cellusys and global board member of the Mobile Ecosystem Forum

Gary Waite

Head of eSIM Strategy, NetLync

With over 30 years’ experience across the telecommunications and mobile sector, Gary has been key to the success of SIM technology ever since its inception. He helped author the original ETSI SIM technical specifications, then via a start-up, he designed and sold what became the de facto standard SIM & Mobile test tool for the entire mobile industry.

During his career, Gary has worked in mobile industry for companies both large and small, including Telefonica group, and is considered an expert on eSIM, NFC, Mobile Wallet and M2M/IoT.

More recently, Gary was in charge of the GSMA’s Consumer eSIM technical specification development and has been key to the global market adoption of the GSMA eSIM standards. And today, as their Head of eSIM Strategy, Gary is leading NetLync’s drive enabling mobile operators to increase revenue through digital customer experiences.

Jean-Francois Gros

Director, Marketing & Strategy, Thales

Jean-Francois is the Head of Strategy, Marketing and Innovation of Thales Telecom Mobile Services. His portfolio includes a range of solutions and services such as Remote SIM Management and Trusted Digital Identity platforms for both consumer and IoT markets.

He chairs the GSMA IoT SAFE Work Group and the TCA IoT Security Application Work Group.

Prior to this role, Jean-Francois held various senior positions in R&D, product management and business development at Gemalto Europe and Thomson South East Asia.
Jean-Francois holds a Master of Engineering on Signal Processing from ESIEE Paris (Ecole Superieur d’Ingenieur en Electronique et Electrotechnique)

Jens Olejak

Head of Satellite IoT Program, Deutsche Telekom IoT

Within Deutsche Telekom IoT Jens leads the product management for all connectivity innovations. This includes NB-IoT, LTE-M, 5G as well as further products and services to enable our customers to benefit from new access technologies, such as nuSIM, the integrated SIM for IoT. Being an M2M/IoT product manager since 2013, Jens started working on LPWA (low power wide area) from 2016 onwards, driving the commercial introduction of NB-IoT in Germany in 2017. He joined Deutsche Telekom in 2005 as part of the Corporate Technology Strategy department, managing the company’s NGN transformation program (NG Factory), before becoming a design manager working on the setup and growth of the newly established Corporate Product Design unit. Before his time at DT he worked for eight years at the Communications & HighTech strategy consulting unit of Accenture in Frankfurt, London and Düsseldorf. He holds a diploma in Mathematics from the University of Siegen as well as an MBA from Imperial College, London.

Jeremy Gosteau

Senior Product Marketing Director, Sequans Communications

Jeremy Gosteau is a senior product marketing director at Sequans Communications, S.A. where he has held different positions, notably as product manager defining the company first LTE modem in 2009, that was successfully launched at Shanghai expo in 2010. He then turned more into product marketing activities, identifying main market segments that Sequans portfolio could address, and adapting that product offering to customer’s needs. He did so by developing partnership with infrastructure vendors, operators, and various ecosystem partners in the IoT value chain. Jeremy has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Imperial College in London, and from Supelec in Paris.

Koby Levy

Director of IoT & Digital Transformation, Huawei Technologies Spain

Leads Huawei’s IoT and Smart city marketing and sales activities in Spain, promoting local partners eco-system and opening global markets for partners in delivering end-to-end Smart-XXX projects.

With strong technical and sales background for more than 25 years – now leading Digital transformation programs across Western Europe, the UK and CEE & Nordics – working across the carrier telecom market as well as public sector Enterprise and industry markets.

Leila de Charette

IoT Security Expert, Orange

Leila de Charette is an IoT Standardization Engineer at Orange Labs security team. She represents Orange at various standardization bodies dealing with IoT security (like ETSI TC Cyber, ENISA IoT security certification, GSMA IoT Security, oneM2M security stream). Leila also ensures end-to-end security for several internal Orange projects due to her 15 years of experience in the end-to-end architecture of complex IT ecosystems. In general Leila’s role at Orange Labs is to guarantee that the solutions proposed to Orange customers are trusted and protecting customer’s privacy.

Marco Bijvelds, SVP, EAP at KORE, brings more than 10 years of IoT experience through senior management positions. Adaptive to the dynamic and fast-paced IoT industry environment, Marco has been successfully implementing KORE’s go-to-market product strategy in Europe, strengthening KORE’s position in the European marketplace.

Nicolas Damour is Senior Director for Strategic Partnerships at Sierra Wireless, responsible for innovation projects with industry partners and market adoption of next generation IoT technologies and services. He has been working at Sierra Wireless for twelve years, strengthening the company’s position as global provider of field-to-cloud IoT solutions that include hardware, connectivity and cloud services. He is currently chairing the GSMA IoT Terminal Steering Group.

Paul Bradley

VP Solutions Sales, Kigen

Paul Bradley is the VP of Solution Sales at Kigen. Working with Tier 1 hardware and connectivity partners within the ecosystem, Paul identifies their pain points and proposes complete solutions based upon Kigen Technology to transform them into opportunities, leveraging our position as an industry leader in secure digital identity.

Prior to Kigen, Paul worked at TM Forum, launching the solutions-oriented Open Digital Framework, and at Gemalto where he held various senior management and consulting roles in the digital security field.

Paul has a BSc. in Applied Science (Computer Science & Software Engineering) from Trinity College and Technological University Dublin (formerly Dublin Institute of Technology).

Covers the drawing together of operators and key stakeholders to reach common goals and consensus across a broad range of technology initiatives. Provides critical technical expertise on the risks and potential pitfalls of a broad range of technology programmes. Management of all the GSMA standing working groups covering – Network Technology, Roaming and Interconnect (Commercial and Technical), Devices, SIM, Fraud and Security, Internet and IPR.

Richard Cockle

Global Head of IoT, Identity and Big Data , GSMA

Richard leads an international team developing new capabilities and revenue opportunities for the mobile sector. Most recently he lead the GSMA programme expanding the business reach of Mobile Identity services with 70 mobile operators in over 30 countries; the services are now being used by over a billion people worldwide.

With over 15 years of experience, leading vital projects in the mobile ecosystem, Richard has an exceptional understanding of the critical challenges faced by the industry. In the past, Richard led the GSMA IoT programme where he secured industry agreements to essential standards for M2M chipset design and remote SIM provisioning. These two are now widely deployed. Richard also has a wealth of experience working with governments and regulators.

In addition, Richard Cockle currently holds an advisory role with HR Tech consultancy SilverCloudHR, where he works with blue-chip companies to develop and implement their HR Tech strategies. Prior to the GSMA, Richard held several technology delivery roles in Vodafone and BT.

Sylwia Kechiche

Principal Analyst, IoT, GSMA Intelligence

As the principal IoT analyst in GSMA Intelligence, Sylwia leads the IoT product development. Her responsibilities range from sizing the IoT opportunity, including the role of operators, to researching and analysing IoT technologies, applications and business models. Sylwia has also moderated and presented at a number of conferences. Sylwia previously worked in telecommunications, media and technology with Pyramid Research.
