What do one billion registered accounts mean for the mobile money industry, mobile money users and the future of the mobile money ecosystem? And how did mobile money become a ‘two-billion-dollar-a-day’ industry?

Reaching the one billion mark is a tremendous achievement for an industry that is just over a decade old. However, what is not captured in this figure is the empowerment that comes with owning a mobile money account and the ability to access new, life-enhancing products and services through the mobile money ecosystem – which has become especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic as individuals and businesses have become increasingly dependent on the service.

In this webinar, we will dive into the core industry trends from the past year including; reaching what can only be described as a digital threshold, a clear shift towards the ‘payments as a platform’ model, the rise in providers becoming commercially sustainable, and the evolving regulatory landscape. We will also touch on how the industry is becoming a leading force in creating a digital future for all and will highlight mobile money’s contribution towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Save your seat to hear from the author of the State of the Industry Report on Mobile Money 2019 and understand the key trends and insights beyond the data, with the opportunity to ask questions.
