By 2020, estimated 390,000 telecom towers will be deployed in off-grid locations, and 790,000 tower will be deployed in bad-grid locations. This will result an annual diesel expense of about $19 billion and GHG emission of about 45 Million tons. This report brings an industry insight on the severity of this problem and a possible approaches to solve it.
