London: The GSMA today outlined the first details of the first Mobile 360 – Latin America event, which will be held on Wednesday, 13 and Thursday, 14 May 2015 at the Sheraton Rio Hotel & Resort in Rio de Janeiro. The thought leadership conference, which forms part of the 2015 GSMA Mobile 360 Series of events, will address Latin American and international mobile and technology ecosystem players, as well as government and regulatory representatives, under the theme “Driving Innovation for Growth”.

“The Latin American mobile market is undergoing tremendous development, marked by major 4G network deployment and expansion. The region is forecast to have 245 million 4G mobile connections and the second-largest smartphone market in the world by 2020,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “Mobile 360 – Latin America will convene decision makers from across the mobile industry as well as diverse sectors to discuss the key opportunities ahead for mobile to further deliver growth with new products and services, in areas such as mobile identity, mobile money, IP communications and Connected Living.”

Mobile 360 – Latin America will address the most pertinent opportunities and challenges for mobile operators in the region. Topics include fostering greater digital inclusion; capitalising on the opportunity of digital identity services; accelerating the development of mobile financial services; delivering returns on existing 4G network investment; and building up regional market scale for Connected Living.

Conference Programme
The Mobile 360 – Latin America conference programme will offer perspectives from across the mobile and technology landscape. Day one will feature a series of high-level presentations and panel discussions, while day two will incorporate the GSMA Latin America Plenary No. 43, with a series of themed workshops presented by GSMA Latin America Working Groups. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss more in-depth technical, regulatory and commercial aspects of new and existing services.
