Rows of various national flags on tall flagpoles wave against a clear blue sky, symbolising international relations. A modern, rectangular building with a mesh-like exterior stands in the background, partially obscured by the flags.

International Relations

Building strategic international relationships to drive collaboration on global challenges

Our international relations mission

As the representative body for the entire mobile industry, the GSMA plays a key role in international relations, actively engaging with governments, with a wide range of governments, UN Agencies, NGOs and international organisations, to amplify the mobile industry’s core messaging on topics ranging from digital health to the digital gender divide.

Key partners comprise intergovernmental institutions and multi-stakeholder groups across both developed and developing markets. The GSMA additionally co-chairs working groups and contributes valuable information and data to fortify the integrity of case studies.

These partnerships work to overcome challenges and unlock opportunities for the benefit of citizens across the globe. Key areas of focus include: digital health, the digital gender divide, digital entrepreneurship, epidemic preparedness, child online protection and connectivity – issues that sit at the heart of modern international relations.

What we do

Four women collaborate around a desk, smiling and looking at a tablet. Engaged in teamwork and discussion, they review papers with diagrams—reflecting the collaborative spirit found in GSMA global, UN, and NGOs initiatives.
