Beyond the Cloud: Edge AI for LMICs
Join us for a webinar exploring the key findings of Beyond the Cloud: Edge AI for LMICs.
As AI adoption accelerates, cloud infrastructure remains the dominant model for AI deployment. However, in many low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), connectivity constraints, bandwidth costs and limited local compute mean that cloud-based AI is not always the most practical or cost-effective option.
Drawing on findings from GSMA’s Beyond the Cloud: Edge AI for LMICs report, this webinar will explore the emerging role of edge AI and more distributed approaches to AI deployment in LMICs. It will examine how models and infrastructure can be designed around specific use cases and operating environments, and the partnerships and enabling conditions needed to support more accessible and sustainable AI deployment.
In this session, Eugénie Humeau, lead author of the report, will present the latest insights and key findings from the report. The presentation will be followed by a discussion with experts from UNESCO and Amini, exploring how models and infrastructure can be designed around specific use cases and operating environments, and the partnerships and enabling conditions needed to support more accessible and sustainable AI deployment.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how edge AI could help shape a more inclusive and sustainable AI future for emerging markets.
