This report presents the latest data and insights on the mobile gender gap in Pakistan, highlighting recent progress. In 2024, 8 million women came online – reducing the gender gap in mobile internet adoption from 38% in 2023 to 25% in 2024.

This momentum comes as a range of stakeholders, including mobile operators, the government and development partners, are accelerating efforts towards advancing women’s digital inclusion in Pakistan. This report also showcases a few of these bold initiatives led by the government and mobile industry.

Despite these gains, more must be done to address the persistent barriers that prevent women from benefiting from mobile internet. The root causes of the mobile gender gap are complex and interrelated and cannot be tackled by any one organisation alone. Continued, coordinated action across sectors will be essential to ensure all women in Pakistan can harness the full benefits of connectivity.
