Meet Efti, a deaf student from rural Bangladesh who is using mobile internet to transform his life and inspire his community.

In Bangladesh, people with disabilities often face significant barriers to accessing mobile internet, including lack of awareness, digital skills and family support. For Efti, this meant a challenging time away from home as a student, unable to communicate with his family.

That all changed when Efti was given a mobile phone by his parents, and went on to receive training from Team Inclusion Bangladesh Foundation, on how to use the internet safely and effectively. He learned to navigate social media, avoid online fraud and use video calling apps. Today, mobile internet allows him to connect with loved ones, create and share educational videos, and advocate for greater digital inclusion in the deaf community.

Efti’s story highlights the life-changing potential of mobile internet for persons with disabilities, empowering them to connect, learn and lead. Watch Efti’s inspiring journey of growth and determination.
