Before mobile internet, Ejigayehu had to travel to meet clients and show her designs in person. This process was time-consuming and costly. However, after learning about mobile phones through an Ethiotelecoms promotion, she realised how much easier and more productive her work could become with access to the right tools.
With the help of a digital skills training, she learned how to leverage mobile internet to connect with clients, send designs and receive feedback within minutes. Social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook have also allowed her to promote her products and start selling on her own website.
Through her company, Ejig Tibeb, Ejigayehu dreams of expanding into the international market, and believes mobile internet is the tool that makes this ambition possible. Her story is a powerful example of how digital inclusion can empower women entrepreneurs in low- and middle-income countries.
