Meet Sadia, a 35-year-old seamstress and henna artist from Pakistan who is redefining what’s possible for women in her community.

In Pakistan, women face many barriers to accessing mobile internet. In this video, Sadia shares her experience with two specific challenges: the restrictive social norms that discourage women’s use of mobile internet and her own initial lack of digital skills.

With the support of her husband, who encouraged her to use a mobile phone to support their family, Sadia was able to overcome societal disapproval. However, she still needed the skills to navigate mobile internet. Through a digital skills training from Jazz, she learned how to harness the power of social media and WhatsApp to start and grow an online business.

Today, Sadia is a thriving entrepreneur, using mobile internet to connect with clients and showcase her work. Her story highlights how digital inclusion can empower women, create opportunities and transform lives for families in low- and middle-income countries.
