Al has the potential to improve access to information, services and economic opportunity across low-and middle-income countries (LMICs). Yet most Al systems focus on a few dominant languages, leaving local languages and communities underserved.
This report explores how Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) can bridge this gap, using their infrastructure, customer reach and partnerships to support Al solutions in local languages. Case studies from Senegal, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan and Indonesia highlight practical approaches from integrating language technologies into customer services to investing in national Al infrastructure and fostering collaborations.
Download the report to see how these strategies are applied in practice, the challenges that remain and how stakeholders can work together to scale inclusive Al across LMICs.
