The Joint Certification Program between GSMA and the TM Forum (TMF) establishes a unified compliance framework for certifying context-specific Operate APIs, derived from TMF Open APIs and adapted for GSMA’s Open Gateway Program. The initiative aligns GSMA and TMF certification processes and working group activities to streamline the validation of API specialisations across both organisations.
By combining TMF’s Conformance Test Kits (CTKs) and API design resources with GSMA’s testing frameworks and operational coordination, the program enables enterprises to verify for technical compliance and interoperability. This unified approach promotes collaboration and strengthens interoperability across global ecosystems.
Certification is currently free of charge for all participants.
Certification Process
The certification supports the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, enabling the ecosystem to collaborate seamlessly through the use of TM Forum Operate APIs. The process begins when an enterprise contacts GSMA and submits required details. GSMA and TMF then register the request and provide test resources to support TMF CTK and GSMA Postman-based self-testing. After successful results are submitted, GSMA validates the outcomes and TMF ratifies them. Once approved, both organisations publish the results and jointly issue co-certification.
