About the Connected Fintech and Commerce community
Beginning in 2020, the Connected Fintech and Commerce community is a global initiative designed to drive progress in mobile fintech. Our aim is to unite stakeholders across the mobile and financial sectors, and provide a means to realise shared goals and provide clear guidance on how to achieve them.
We look for ways to use cutting-edge technologies like AI and ML in fintech to make payments and commerce more convenient and secure. Our initiative helps identify opportunities, such as the development of advanced fintech apps that meet the needs of businesses and consumers alike. We also highlight and promote the role of mobile payments and APIs in enabling secure and seamless transactions. Crucially, we identify emerging fraud risks and help the industry stay protected against evolving financial threats and scams.
The GSMA’s long history in mobile commerce and digital identity means we have both expertise and strong relationships across the financial sector. This helps us understand the needs of the broader ecosystem and focus on solutions that service the wider industry and its customers. This includes using mobile network data to combat fraud, improving risk assessment through alternative data sources, and expanding financial inclusion. These are critical for building trust and delivering value across global markets.
Through our Forum, events, and collaborative projects, the GSMA’s Connected Fintech and Commerce community serves as a hub for knowledge-sharing and innovation. Join us and advance mobile fintech and drive meaningful change in the industry.
The forum focuses on critical issues such as fraud prevention, financial inclusion, mobile payments, and conversational commerce. Members identify emerging trends and evaluate their potential for product development to solve common market challenges. Our quarterly meetings help define industry priorities that benefit businesses and consumers alike.
