During the Global Anti Scam Summit 2025 held in London, April collaboration was one of the key themes at the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) Summit held in London this week, with over 1,500 delegates in attendance, in person and online.
In working sessions, Richard Cockle and Brian Gorman from GSMA partnered with industry leaders to share in-depth insights, explore challenges in detail, and showcase solutions. These discussions highlighted how global collaborations such as with UK Finance and SABRIC are enabling a deeper understanding leading to strengthened solutions.
Banks and Telcos collaborate together to protect consumers
Major banks, and joined a panel to share best practices, discuss the issue of fraud and scams hitting the financial sector. By working together, solutions have been implemented to enhance security, mitigate risk, new regulations have come into play and working across sectors with mobile operators have unlocked new opportunities to tackle APP Fraud and most importantly, protect consumers and provide a safe payment experience. Telcos Tackling Scams with AI and APIs
GSMA Director General Designate, Vivek Badrinath explained the GSMA Open Gateway API project detailing case studies from Brazil and the UK on how collaborations were enabling network insights to be leveraged to fight scams. In addition, he showcased how Airtel is capturing value from AI, building a network solution which profiles all calls and SMS message to warn its customers of potential scams.




Fighting Back on Scams: Protecting Consumers on Mobile
During Day 2 workshop, hosted by F-Secure & GSMA, speakers from major UK operators presented and joined a panel discussion to share insights innovative mobile technologies delivering fraud solutions.
