Lynk Global and Omnispace to Merge, Advancing Direct-to-Device Connectivity with SES

Lynk Global and Omnispace plan to merge to create a comprehensive Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity solution that unites satellite and terrestrial networks. The combined company will leverage Omnispace’s 60 MHz of globally coordinated S-band spectrum and ITU filings, optimized for D2D services and compliant with 3GPP standards for non-terrestrial networks. With extensive market access across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia, the merger will accelerate global deployment and scalability of satellite-enabled voice, messaging, and data services for smartphones and IoT devices.

The merged entity will also integrate Lynk’s patented low-cost, multi-spectrum satellite technology and its existing partnerships with over 50 mobile network operators in more than 50 countries. SES, a major investor in both companies, will become a strategic shareholder and provide its multi-orbit network, ground infrastructure, and engineering support to advance D2D and IoT solutions for telecom, enterprise, automotive, and government customers. The transaction is expected to close in late 2025 or early 2026, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
