AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have formally established their joint venture (JV) to promote competition and interoperability in direct-to-device (D2D) satellite services. The JV aims to support multiple satellite providers, develop standards for device compatibility, use spectrum efficiently, and expand D2D coverage, including through partnerships with rural mobile operators. The venture is non-exclusive, allowing each carrier to maintain existing satellite partnerships.
