SES Advances Multi-Orbit In-Flight Connectivity with meoSphere and Next-Generation ESA Technology

SES is advancing its next-generation “meoSphere” MEO satellite network to support multi-orbit in-flight connectivity, combining MEO, GEO, and LEO systems for seamless, always-on coverage. The company is developing standardized multi-band electronically steered antennas (ESAs) capable of tracking multiple satellites simultaneously, enabling high-speed (up to 1 Gbps) and resilient connectivity for aviation and government users. With initial launches planned as pathfinder missions over the next two years, full commercial deployment is targeted for 2030, with early services expected by 2028.
