In 2024, mobile technologies and services generated $550 billion for the Latin American economy, equivalent to 8.2% of GDP. The industry’s economic contribution is forecast to reach $680 billion by 2030, 8.6% of GDP, as the uptake of 5G, AI and other digital technologies continues.

Operators across Latin America are making steady progress on their 5G journey, and adoption is projected to reach 53% by 2030. More than 30 operators in 13 countries have launched commercial 5G services to date, while a further 18 have announced plans for deployment in the coming years.
