NA WEE at RIG #100
We invite all GSMA members to join us at RIG #100 for the GSMA North America WEE session on October 28, 2026 at the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM (EST). Learn more about RIG #100 here.
Building on RIG #99
At RIG #99, not only did we meet at the GCI offices we also attended the University of Alaska Anchorage, sitting down in person with UAA faculty for an open exchange on where industry and higher education can better meet each other. The session centered on findings from the Wireless Industry Skills Study, which found that students are arriving industry-ready on technical skills but underprepared in communication, collaboration, and professional adaptability. Conversation turned to how industry and academia can close that gap — through classroom visits, mentorship, and coaching — and where curriculum hasn’t yet caught up with emerging technologies.
The takeaway: academic institutions aren’t just a talent pipeline, they’re partners in shaping what that talent looks like, and RIG #99 was one step in a relationship the group intends to keep building on.
At RIG #100, we’re continuing that in person, this time at the Virginia Tech innovation campus, turning those conversations into concrete next steps.
Who should come? Any GSMA member with a stake in wireless workforce and education — technical, HR, business, academic, or more.
