MWC17 A New Global Platform for Conversations, Chatbots and Commerce

Messaging platforms are now bigger than most social networks and this trend looks set to continue in 2017 with chatbots playing a prominent role.

The GSMA’s Future Networks programme is working closely with operators, OEMs and operating system providers on the roll-out of RCS, built on one specification, the GSMA’s Universal Profile.

Operators globally are upgrading SMS to RCS, providing 6.7 billion subscribers with an
engaging and modern messaging experience that works simply and consistently across
networks and devices without the need to download multiple apps.
