GSMA Member PAiCore Technology, an open‑source provider of carrier‑grade telecom signalling and messaging infrastructure, has won first place in two categories at the 4th Antonio Meucci Global Telco Awards, held in Madrid this September: Revolutionary Contribution and Best Telco Newcomer. PAiCore earned the Revolutionary Contribution award from a field of ten validated nominees, and Best Telco Newcomer from a field of seven.
In its citation for Revolutionary Contribution, the judging panel recognised PAiCore for transforming carrier‑grade telecom infrastructure from a costly, closed, vendor‑controlled model into an open, standards‑based and commercially sustainable platform — giving operators greater control, lower costs and faster innovation. For Best Telco Newcomer, judges highlighted PAiCore’s clear, simple approach and noted that its open‑source nature “adds significant value, turning complexity into clarity and ideas into impact.”
An open, standards-based approach
As a GSMA member, PAiCore builds its products directly against GSMA and 3GPP specifications rather than proprietary interfaces. Its portfolio includes an SMSC, IP-SM-GW for SMS over IMS, an SCTP library, a Network API Gateway aligned to the CAMARA project, an SMS signalling firewall, and ECS-Lite — an entitlement configuration server implementing the GSMA TS.43 specification for eSIM, VoWiFi and VoLTE device entitlement.
Every product is released as open source, with revenue coming from professional and technical support and select premium features rather than software licensing. For operators, this means the ability to audit and test implementations directly against the published standard — an approach the company positions as complementary to GSMA’s work on open, interoperable network APIs through initiatives such as Open Gateway.
