GSMA Working groups, regional groups and connected communities
As a valuable member of the GSMA, you join a vibrant community of industry leaders, experts, and visionaries who are shaping the future of mobile technology and its transformative impact on societies worldwide.
Working Groups
The engine of industry collaboration
Working groups are member-led forums that drive collaboration, define operational frameworks, and influence global mobile standards.
These groups are structured around key technical and strategic domains such as: networks, roaming and interconnect, eSIM and devices, emerging technologies, and fraud and security.
Regional Groups
Localised focus, global impact
Regional groups complement the global working groups by focusing on market-specific issues and opportunities.
These groups enable members to address regulatory, commercial, and technical challenges unique to their regions while aligning with global GSMA strategies.

Connected Communities
Sector-specific collaboration
Connected communities are thematic ecosystems that bring together mobile operators, vendors, and industry stakeholders to accelerate innovation in specific verticals.
Current communities include Manufacturing, Fintech, Smart Mobility, Mobile AI, IoT, Non-Terrestrial Networks, Identity and Data, 5G Future and Open Gateway.
Member Directory
The Member Directory is a searchable database embedded in Member Gateway platform. It allows authorised users to find and connect with individuals across the global GSMA ecosystem. Its primary purposes include:
Cross-organisation networking
Members can identify and reach out to peers in other organisations—crucial for initiating partnerships, technical collaboration, policy alignment, or business development.
Support for working groups and projects
Members can locate relevant contacts involved in specific working groups, industry initiatives, or technical projects, streamlining collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Onboarding and visibility
New members or employees can use the directory to familiarise themselves with key contacts and stakeholders across the GSMA network, accelerating onboarding and integration.
Once granted access, members can use Roaming Gateway to interact with several critical tools.
- RAEX (Roaming Agreement Exchange): this facilitates the digital exchange of roaming agreements and network configuration data.
- IR.21 catalogue access: via an authorised API, members can retrieve network configuration data for roaming partners
- TS.25/MNCN data: a technical specification used in roaming operations.
- TADIG code management: unique identifiers for operators used in billing and clearing processes.
- GSER (GSMA Standard Exchange Rate Tool): provides standardised exchange rates for financial settlements.
- PMN-BID database: maps Public Mobile Network (PMN) codes to Billing Identifiers (BIDs), essential for billing and charging agreements.
