This document, TS.68 is the test book specification for FWA Devices, companion of TS.64. It contains detailed test cases, aimed at verifying the conformance of the FWA Devices to the technical requirements defined in TS.64.
GSMA TS.64 provides an architectural framework and technical specification for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Devices which make use of 3GPP access technologies as WAN connectivity. TS.64 sets the baseline for good quality FWA products, by detailing technical requirements in selected areas (Networking/IP services, Wi-Fi, voice, remote management, 4G/5G access layers, security, stability, …) that FWA Devices should implement to provide high-quality and reliable services for end customers.
The use of FWA solutions has become quite popular in the Ultrabroadband Internet Access market as a cost-effective solution to provide a good connectivity service to customers, especially in areas in which wireline e.g. Fiber To The Home – FTTH, Fiber To The Cabinet – FTTC solutions have not been yet deployed.
A typical FWA Device is an indoor (1-box) or outdoor (2-box) solution that connects via Radio Interface to the network of the Service Provider, and offers to the end-user Wi-Fi connectivity, Fast- or Gigabit-Ethernet ports, and one or two FXS (Foreign eXchange Station) ports for connecting analogue telephones to provide voice service to the end-user.
Readers can refer to TS.64 for a more comprehensive description of FWA Devices architecture and requirements.
In order to ease reading this document (TS.68), the same numbering and titles of the sections of TS.64 have been maintained here. The requirements referenced in the test cases are copied exactly as they are in TS.64 hence any reference numbers in the copied requirements are to the references in TS.64. TS.64_3.7.1.2_REQ_001
