On 5 and 6 November, the GSMA, the ITU, ETSI, George Washington University’s Faculty of Law and University College London hosted their 2nd Conference on Patents in Telecoms in Washington D.C. Participants included US, Asian and European chief judges, senior representatives of the Federal Trade Commission, the US Department of Justice, the European Commission, standard setting bodies, operators, manufacturers and patent assertion entities. Executives from more than 20 GSMA member groups from Asia, Europe and the US also attended the event.
