Mobile World Congress 2017 – The Next Element

The GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC), the world’s largest and most prestigious gathering for the mobile industry, will take place in Barcelona from 27 February to 2 March 2017. Under the theme The Next Element, executives and policymakers will debate and shape the future of the mobile industry. The conference programme will provide essential, in-depth coverage of the contemporary and future mobile industry, highlighting specific areas of growth and opportunity.

The GSMA is introducing a new conference format, to include more sessions and enable an increased, in-depth analysis of the topics and trends that are shaping the mobile industry. From the keynote programme to focused conference sessions, thought leaders from the most important companies in the mobile and adjacent industries will take the stage during the four days of MWC, with over 100,000 visitors expected. The GSMA Innovation City

The GSMA Innovation City will feature more innovative mobile products and services than ever before, enabling visitors to explore and connect with the latest innovations 5G, the Internet of Things, security, identity and other areas.

Ministerial Programme

The GSMA’s prestigious Ministerial Programme, held alongside the Mobile World Congress, will convene the world’s most influential telecoms leaders to share ideas and debate in pursuit of connecting everyone and everything to a better future.

4YFN (4 Years from Now)

4YFN (4 Years From Now) is becoming a home for the growing global tech start-up community. Held alongside the Mobile World Congress for its fourth year, FYFN has become the centre point for start-up-related innovation and guidance. There will be a wide range of start-ups participating in talks covering many topics, such as mobile disruption, the Internet of Things and digital media.

Youth Mobile Festival

The Youth Mobile Festival (YoMo) aims to inspire thousands of young people and help them learn more about careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) sectors in an increasingly mobile world. YoMo Barcelona will welcome 20,000 school children from across Catalonia and Spain to a huge showcase of science and technology.

The Glomo Awards

The GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards (the Glomos) is the industry’s leading stage for innovation, excellence and achievement. Winners will be announced at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2017.

Special Programme of activities for EU Officials

The GSMA has designed a special programme of activities for European Commission’s officials and Members of the European Parliament in the context of the MWC. This includes high-level roundtable discussions, the Ministerial Programme and tours of selected top exhibition stands for a hands-on experience of cutting-edge technology devices.
