Safaricom Maisha Ni Digital: Driving Digital Inclusion for Women

In Kenya, women are 34% less likely than men to use mobile internet, and as a result receive fewer life-changing benefits of connectivity. To close this gender gap, Safaricom launched the Maisha Ni Digital (‘Life is Digital’) campaign in partnership with Google. The campaign aims to drive access to smartphones and to the internet, particularly among women in rural areas, by addressing three key barriers to mobile internet access: Affordability, Relevance and Digital Skills.

Safaricom PLC is part of the Connected Women Commitment Initiative. Find out more about the work they are doing to advance digital inclusion for women in Kenya on their Commitment Partner page.
