Recap of Tech4Girls: EmpowHERing Leadership through AI Workshop

The recent Tech4Girls: EmpowHERing Leadership through AI Workshop provided a transformative one-day experience for girls aimed at embracing the potential of AI and enhancing their leadership skills. The event was moderated by TATT and kicked off with an inspiring keynote that set the stage for a day of empowerment and learning. This workshop was spearheaded by GSMA Tech4Girls in collaboration with EQUALS, TATT (Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago), CANTO (Caribbean Association of National Telecommunication Organizations), Verizon, RSC, FLOW, Tobago Information Technology Limited (TITL), and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

This event was celebrating Girls in ICT Day, which highlights the significance of girls in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and aims to inspire more girls and young women to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and careers.

Young women aged 15 and above had the opportunity to participate either individually or through access centers spread across Trinidad and Tobago. There were fourteen access centers throughout Trinidad and Tobago, facilitating participation for those without direct Wi-Fi access or personal computing devices. In total, over 280 participants took part in the workshop.

Throughout the workshop, attendees engaged in discussions and activities exploring the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on leadership in the digital age. They gained valuable insights into how AI is reshaping the future landscape of leadership and acquired practical strategies for leveraging its power in decision-making and innovation.

Furthermore, the workshop fostered connections among a vibrant community of like-minded young women and industry experts, encouraging dialogue and collaboration. Attendees left the event feeling empowered, inspired, and equipped with the confidence to unleash their full leadership potential.

The GSMA-collaborated EQUALS HDS Caribbean Workshop exemplified the collective effort to empower young women through education, technology, and collaboration, reinforcing the importance of inclusivity and accessibility in the digital era on Girls in ICT Day.
